Our Story
West Side Transport is a family-owned mid-sized trucking company with over 40 years in the business.
West Side Transport is a medium-sized company with a small company feel. We appreciate the drivers, mechanics, and office staff who work so hard to make every day run as smooth as possible. The family atmosphere was established over 40 years ago by the Vogt family — and is still family-run to this day. The business began salvaging grain spills at train yards using just a couple of pickups and shovels. As the company grew, the Vogt family added semi-tractors and hopper trailers to accommodate customer needs. By the late 1980s, the West Side trucking operation had expanded into the truckload, dry van business. To this day you will still find the owner hauling freight to understand better what our drivers endure on the daily. The West Side Transport leadership team is always reviewing and making changes to improve driver satisfaction while they are out driving on the road.

Convoy for a Cure
On August 23rd, 2016, West Side Transport launched the very colorful Convoy for a Cure trailer to the fleet. The employees who raised $30,000 for purchasing the trailer were on hand, as well as several volunteers from Gems of Hope. West Side has pledged to donate a portion of the revenue to various local cancer charities for the life of the trailer. On October 4th, 2017, the first community award was presented to Gems of Hope for $10,000! It was a great day, to say the least!

Safety & Orientation
Our Safety and Orientation Team works with all drivers, new and experienced, to a strict standard of DOT compliance. We hire and retain only safe, service-oriented drivers, and office personnel.
Mechanic Shop & Maintenance
West Side has a full-service shop with mechanics and techs that work around the clock to ensure our equipment meets DOT regulations. The company’s standards keep our drivers safe and assure the freight we haul is delivered safely and on time to its destination.
